Medical & Rehab Facilities

The Health Care Center can accommodate residents with a variety of needs. In addition to extended care, the nursing home provides care for persons needing short-term care, for cardio-vascular and joint replacement rehabilitation. For those requiring memory care, Good Shepherd Way offers a secure and comfortable environment where care allows each individual’s energy and spirit to flourish. Admissions to our Health Care Center come from our resident population as well as the community at large, with priority given to Village residents.

Whether you are in the Health Care Center for a long or short-term stay you are in good hands. During short-term rehabilitation those hands make all the difference in your recovery by way of the attentive, professional staff.
Therapists prepare you for the return to your residence by giving you printed exercises and ensuring your home environment is safe.

What is immediately apparent from a visit to the Health Care Center is the pleasant atmosphere and tasteful furnishings throughout. Private and semi-private rooms, and inviting social areas, gardens and courtyards support residents’ well being. Nutritious meals are prepared under the supervision of a registered dietician. With programs such as “Every Bite Counts”, for residents with poor appetites, hyper-metabolic conditions and weight problems, and “Perfect Balance” menus, residents can improve their overall health and mental outlook.

We pay attention to the physical dimension of wellness as well. A wide-range of activities are offered to help each person attain the highest level of independence. Seated exercise sessions help residents maintain physical strength by using resistance bands or light weights. Increased emphasis is being placed on individualized assessments and exercise programs. Special emphasis is placed in social interaction and entertainment such as current events, reading, gardening and “Cooks Corner.”
